Time Capsule Ceremony
On October 14th, 2025, Mrs. A.'s Grade 5 and 5/6 students were joined by parents, family members, staff, and community guests to commemorate the burial of their time capsule. The ceremony began with students carrying their Pringles can time capsules from the school to the burial site, where they were placed in a special time capsule box crafted by Matthew Williams' shop class at V.C.I. Students Prepare Artifacts to Bury
Students in Mrs. Anderson's grade 5 and 5/6 classes have been busy preparing their artifacts to be buried in their time capsule. Students worked hard on their All About Me infographics and Pringles Time Capsules throughout September and October, leading up to their October 14th ceremony date.

Time Capsule Project
Mrs. A.’s class will be joined by student teacher, Ms. Amell, for seven weeks. During this time, they will be working on a Time Capsule Project and integrating Real-World Learning into their lessons. Students listened to a read-aloud of Casebusters: Secret of the Time Capsule by Joan Lowery Nixon. Afterward, they made inferences about what might have been placed in the time capsule as the “gift to the city” and created drawings to show their ideas.

P.C.P.S. works with V.C.I. on Time Capsule Project
Students in Mr. William’s shop class at V.C.I. supported our Time Capsule Project by building the box where students will place their Pringles can time capsules. Our class decided to create two time capsules to ensure we had one safe from the outdoor elements. The first, which will be buried, is a PVC pipe containing each student’s laminated All About Me infographic, a copy of their Letter to My Future Self and a class picture. Small Business Fair
Mrs. Anderson's grade 5, 6, and 7 classes held their 3rd annual Small Business Fair on June 19th, 2025. The slogan, Dream Like a Kid , was highlighted, as students represented 15 small businesses and this year's event saw more visitors than ever before!
